New record A 1951 Penfolds Bin 1 Grange wine has sold for a record price at @ auction. It went to a Melbourne buyer for more than $103,000 – the highest price ever for a bottle of Australian wine. This wine broke the previous record of $81,000, which was set in December 2019. So that roughly works out about $17k per glass. But don’t drink it just yet - if you bought this bottle in December last year the value would have gained a 27% increase in 7 months. Langtons have a bit of Grange history on their website and outlined the 1952 vintage, regarded as the first commercial release, was probably sold at around 15 shillings ($1.50) Now that’s an investment...simple... Cheers to @langtonsfinewine and @drinkstrade for the information. #luxurylifestyle #luxury #australianwine #recordprice #au #australia ia #expensive #expensivelifestyle #expensivewine #billionaire #millionaire #penfolds #penfoldsgrange #winecountry #winelover #auction #investing #investment #grange #southaustralia #buyaustralian #iwantone #wineheaven #danmurphys #winemerchant
