 range with this 2017 Aglianico from the northern Adelaide Hills. Aglianico, late ripening, spends a few weeks on skins and sees a mixture of older oak and stainless steel. The result? Zippy, cherry, candy-cane on the nose. Slight touch of fresh greenery, yum. Excitable palate as the cherry, sweet sour combo of fruit goodness gets a boost of fine tannins. For a varietal I’m not that across this is a bloody tasty little number! ⠀

Kicking-off the week with a medium- bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz, courtesy of Curtis Family Vineyards. Lots to like here. Plenty of fruit, great  concentration, powerful yet quite elegant all up. It’s a quality drop that’s playing in a pretty serious pool of wines from that neck of the woods and doing a very good job! -

Production = Dry grown from our single vineyard little block in Yallingup. Hand harvest & basket pressed straight into the amphora pots. Wild ferment & natural malo. Hand bottled direct from pots, sealed under cork with wax top. 🍷 ​

It’s been a good day... cellar stocked with these beauties. I always try to buy in multiples of 3 (3/6/9/12). This way I get to drink one young, rest the others, and taste the evolution 🙌🍷 🍷 ​

This. Is. Epic. Inky, glass staining, depth. Full bodied and rounded, thick and rich. This is a complex wine. Seriously intense fruit. Herbal, earthy, smokiness going on. I actually can’t fault this wine, it’s perfect. Standish Wine Co, I’m hooked! ⠀
