Sub $20 can be a minefield when it comes to wine, especially if you’re a keen wino. Everyone who loves wine has a sub $20 go to so what’s yours? These Wild Fox Organic Wines Barossa Shiraz & Riverland Chardonnay 2019 both fall into the sub $20 so how’d they measure up? Shiraz - Ripe blackberries and plums on the nose with a touch of oak spice. The palate is bright with a generous dose of ripe black fruits, a light dusting of tannin and gentle acidity. Chardonnay - Peach and melon on the nose with a little vanilla in the mix. Peach, melon and green grapes mainly, a little oak on the finish. I find the palate lacks a little acidity to tighten it up. They’re wines for people wanting more fruit than savoury complexity or who want something juicy at a sensible price point and there’s nothing wrong with that 👌🏽🍷🙏🏼
