Soumah Equilibrio Pinot Noir 2019, the flagship from the Yarra Valley outfit. The nose is all small red berries, tightly packed, sour and spicy, sappy with mushroom earthy notes. The palate’s a fresh red cherry juice and cranberry sours lovechild with pomegranate seed tannin, some woody spice, and a touch of greenness, vegetal, cucumber maybe, good finish, quite long. It’s not quite as intense or pure as previous vintages but it has some super interesting complexities to it. I’d really like to see it again in 5 years to see how it’s evolving 👌🏽🍷🙏🏼
