2015 Hirsch Vineyards - Raschen Ridge Estate Pinot Noir (93 pts) @hirschvineyards @jasminehirsch · 🙋‍♂️ Do you like wine reviews grouped together around a theme (Producer/Region/🍇)❓· ℹ️ Raschen Ridge is the highest elevation blocks of the Hirsch Vineyards Estate in the Sonoma Coast. This is 💯 Pinot Noir and receives 20-30% new French oak. 📝See previous post for 2015 vintage notes· 👁 Medium-ruby color with a watery rim· 👃 Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of ripe raspberry, strawberry, dried leaves, mint, celery, and violet· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium- chalky tannins, and medium-body. Wonderful velvety texture. Flavors of ripe red fruit, floral, violet, mint, celery, and star anise spice. Medium+ length floral finish· 🔔 My favorite of Pinots tasted at Hirsch Vineyards. This is accessible now, but has structure to last. Good mix of California power, but cool climate restraint and acidity. I think this will be really sexy in a few years. Patience is a virtue. 😞
