2008, 2011, & 2006 Domaine Bonneau du Martray -
3/9/2021, 8:25:47 AM 2008, 2011, & 2006 Domaine Bonneau du Martray - Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru - The 2008 was by far my favorite of the lineup. Aromas of honey, yellow apple, pie crust, and cantaloupe. Palate shows noticeably more oak than the nose, but not in a distracting way. There is more heft to the palate and a wet stone finish. The 2011 showed aromas of bruised apple and something a kin to a petrol-like note. The palate was a little fat and almost too round, missing some acid backbone. Things went downhill with the 2006 and I was able to try 2 bottles that were very similar. Simply put this wine was oxidized. Aromas of sherry, nail polish remover, honey, and baked pineapple. Why was this even served? Seriously the who's who of Somms were working this event. Anyone have the đĽ to say something to the Domaine representative? Ok so 1 bad wine, 1 muted/mediocre, and 1 decent wine (still wasn't blown away). Having had amazing bottles in the past my â¤ď¸ đ a little this day. #france #burgundy #cotedebeaune #cortoncharlemagne #cortoncharlemagnegrandcru #chardonnay #lapaulee #bonneaudumartray #domainebonneaudumartray #wine #vin #vino #čĄčé
