2001, 2009, & 2011 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé - Bonnes Mares Grand Cru - 2001 showed the best and almost fully mature. Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of spice, dried red fruit, currant, cranberry, herbal, and leather. Even more spice on the palate. Longest and most profound finish. 2009 medium intensity on the nose. Heavy aromas of dried leaves and earthiness. Mostly dark fruit and quite brooding. Tannins still powerful and quite grippy. 2011 the nose was more intense, but not appealing. A lot of stemmy, tree bark aromas combined with dark fruit. The palate was powerful and astrigent. I did not 💔 love the 2011. The 2009 was not as brooding as 2011, but will hopefully shake off the rougher edges. While the 2001 was by far the best, I have to say that I had enormous expectations for these 🍷 given the price point and hype. I have had the Musigny numerous times and have never been let down. Personally their Chambolle Musigny 1er crus are the sweet spot for me. Overall, I was not that impressed and would not seek out Comte Georges de Vogüé's Bonnes Mares for my cellar. #lapaulee #france #burgundy #cotedenuits #bonnesmares #grandcru #pinotnoir #comtegeorgesdevogue #domainecomtegeorgesdevogue #wine #vin #vino #葡萄酒 #vinho #wein #winelover #winegeek #winetasting #wsetdiploma #winestagram #wineterroir #sommelier #winelife #wineoclock #postmorewine #lovewine #winetime #wineporn #instawine
