1/29/2021, 2:31:12 AM 2015 Chateau Canon - St. Emillion (90 pts) #winereview - Medium ruby color. Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of red currant, red plum, blackberry, oak, smoke, and something soapy. The wine is dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol, high tannins that are drying and chunky, and full body. This wine has some light red fruits initially on the palate, but is then overwhelmed by it's structure. Oak, charcoal, vanilla, and smoke take over. Ending in a long, but bitter Compari flavored finish. 70% new French oak may be in the driver seat now, only time will tell if it all will integrate. This is a beast of wine that should not even be visited for another decade. Not my style at the moment.
