1990 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc (92 pts) #winereview - Deep yellow color on its way to Gold. Almost a fluorescent yellow. High intensity nose that jumped out of the glass. Loads of fruit still present. Canned peaches, canned pears, honey, lanolin, lemon custard, smoke, and oak spice. The wine is dry, but the fruit was so powerful and concentrated that had to think about it briefly. Medium acidity not the highlight of the wine, but keeping it together. Medium+ alcohol. Full body with a real weight to the wine from start to finish. The palate lacked a touch of complexity as I think the fruit just had not given way to other flavors. Wax and lanolin notes on the medium+ length finish. Not sure if this will improve or not, but I was really expecting more development in flavors.
