2018 Big Table Farm - The Elusive Queen Chardonnay Willamette Valley (93 pts) @bigtablefarm 路 鈩癸笍 Big Table Farm is a family operation that is run by a husband and wife duo. Brian Marcy is the Winemaker, while Clare Carver is the does everything from sales to marketing to label. This wine is 馃挴 Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley, Oregon. This is a selection of the four best barrels from their entire Chardonnay program. The vineyards used in this wine are "top secret" but most likely somewhere from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Whole cluster pressed and native yeast fermentation. Barrel fermented in French oak with no new oak. The wines go through 馃挴 Malolactic Fermentation. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Only 102 cases produced路 馃憗 Medium lemon color, unfiltered路 馃憙 Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of lemon custard, Meyer lemon, white flowers, jasmine, yellow apple, white peach, Asian pear, marzipan, and yogurt路 馃憚 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), and full body. This wine has a great chalky texture on the palate. A medium+ length finish of yellow apple, salted almonds, and jasmine tea路 馃敂 Every year this wine never fails to impress. It is downright delicious and a buttoned-up expression of Chardonnay. The whole line up is good, but this bottle always sings to me. This wine will continue to improve with cellaring, but honestly, it is drinking beautifully already. Once again re-affirming that Oregon Chardonnay is a thing and highly underrated路 馃挵 $85路 #vin #lovewine #馃嵎 #wineterroir #wine #bigtablefarm #oregonwine #willamettevalley #chardonnay #farmtotable
