Aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaf, tobacco, lead pencil, menthol, olive, wet leaves, oak, and cedar. Medium acidity, medium dusty and drying tannins, medium alcohol, and medium body. A lot less fruit on the palate with tertiary notes dominating. Flavors of tomato leaf, dried blackcurrant, dried blackberry, menthol, tar, tobacco, lead pencil, wet leaves, and cedar. The palate is very dusty, Rutherford bench fruit? The finish is medium- length and falls off sooner than expected. Drinking this blind, I would be more in Bordeaux than Napa. It's reserved, missing fruit and some power, although it makes up for it in finesse. The tannins are fairly resolved, but on the finish they really dry out the palate.
