2012 Linne Calodo - Rising Tides Paso Robles (92 pts) #winereview - Deep ruby with noticeable tears from high alcohol. Medium+ intensity on the nose. Loads of black fruit (blueberry, boysenberry, black plum, and black currant) followed by leather, sage, white pepper, vanilla, and lavender. Medium acidity, medium+ ripe and fine grained tannins, high alcohol, and full body. The palate has even more supple ripe black fruit. Almost like blueberry and boysenberry preserves. Herbal notes of sage and lavender are in the background. The oak spice, white pepper, and vanilla are a bit more assertive, but still in balance just adding another layer of complexity. This wine is mouth coating, the acidity is good. The fruit is ripe and powerful, but not over the top. Funny enough the alcohol albeit high is very much in balance with the ripe fruit. Medium+ length finish. This wine is delicious! That's about the most important thing I could say. It will get better with a touch of age, but don't let that wonderful fruit slip away. #california #pasorobles #pasowine #grenache #syrah #mouvedre #linnecalodo #wineterroir #wine #winegeek #winelover #winetasting
