Hand-harvested grapes are from vines 7 years in age, in calcium rich, clay soils. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, aged for 6 months in stainless steel. Unfined, unfiltered. Inky red violet in colour, with aromas of cherry, black pepper, a wisp of campfire smoke and rosemary. Blackberry, red currant, cherry, pomegranate, bramble and earth glide across grippy tannins and fresh acidity. Dried currant and peppery spice linger on the tangy finish.
