The Iovine family has been making wine in Irpinia since 1890. Planted in 1963, vines are ungrafted and in volcanic soil [deposits from eruptions of the Vesuvius] 200-450 meters in elevation. “Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel and then in a process similar to Prosecco and Lambrusco, the wine goes through a long secondary fermentation in autoclave”. _ Inky red-violet with pink foam, with aromas of black cherry, candied flowers and a wisp of smoke.
