2014 Tamarelli Vineyards - Gran Corte Estate Blend
2/11/2021, 6:54:12 AM 2014 Tamarelli Vineyards - Gran Corte Estate Blend @tamarellivineyards · ℹ️ This wine is from the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. The blend is 70% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, and 5% Syrah. Aged in French oak barrels for 20 months· 👁 Deep purple color with a medium rim· 👃 Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of oak, sawdust, cedar, vanilla cream, clove, black plum, boysenberry, pomegranate, black cherry, earthy, violets, and balsamic (VA)· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, high powdery tannins, high alcohol (14.5%), and full body. A medium-length finish of ripe black plums and cherries covered in sawdust with some violet petals sprinkled on top· 🔔 Big and extracted ripe black fruit slathered in polished high-end new oak. The oak still needs time to integrate and initially covers up a lot of the fruit on the nose. There is a lot to like in the wine, and it did open up after a few hours of breathing. The alcohol, while not super high in terms of ABV, is fairly noticeable🔥on the finish. Anyone drinking a lot of bigger new world Cabernets will find this to be appealing and a good value.
