2013 Lilbert-Fils - Cramant Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut (89 pts) @champagnelilbertfils @vintage59imports · 🙋‍♂️ Do you know the difference between Cramant and Crémant❓· ℹ️ This wine comes from a small grower house in the Côte des Blancs area of Champagne, France. The family has been growing vines around the town of Cramant since 1746 and have first bottled their own wine since 1907. Crémant was a style of Champagne with less pressure that originated in the town of Cramant, now the former is reserved for traditional method wines outside of the Champagne region in France. This wine is a Blanc de Blancs and is 💯 Chardonnay coming from Grand Cru vineyards in Cramant. The vines are sustainably farmed and the primary source of this wine are old vines planted in 1936. Made in stainless steel and undergo full Malolactic Fermentation. The bottles are hand riddled and disgorged without freezing. Dosage of 4-5 g/l· 👁 Pale lemon color· 👃 Medium- intensity on the nose. Aromas of floral, white flowers, acacia, chalk, asian pear, and green apple· 👄 The wine is dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (12%), and medium- body. A Medium- length finish of green orchard fruit and flowers· 🔔 Tiny production of only 165 cases only made in good years. First impression is that the wine is extremely tight and really needs more time in bottle. The acidity is extremely high and really cuts through the palate. Very linear and delicate at the moment. I would like to try this with a bit more bottle age. I noticed the back label says Extra Brut and dosage of 3 g/l but all other materials online says otherwise.
