Christina grew up working in the vineyards alongside her parents and grandparents. Her 28 hectare family estate is located in the heart of the Caruntum region in Burgenland, east of Vienna. Following her studies in oenology and wine management, she began to passionately pursue the transition to organic viticulture at her family estate, the ‘Christina’ line of wines is a reflection of her love for ancient winemaking methods. Grapes are from vines in gravel and loess soils. “Fermented spontaneously in open boxes, in contact with the skins for 24 days. The skins are pressed and the wine spends 10 months in stainless steel. Orange-gold in colour with aromas of baked apple, lemon, wild flowers, soft spice and a trace of toast. Red apple, pear, nutmeg and a drizzle of clover honey are framed by delicate green tea tannins and good acidity.
