The wine is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The grapes come from two estate vineyards planted in 1978 and 1995. The wines were aged in French oak barrels for 18 months with 50% being new oak· 👁 Deep ruby color· 👃 Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of ripe black currant, blackberry, black cherry, semi-sweet chocolate, cedar, clove, tomato leaf, sage, and mint tea· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ ripe tannins, medium+ alcohol (14%), and medium+ body. A medium+ length finish of black fruit, semi-sweet chocolate, and cooling mint tea· 🔔 Margaret River is one of my favorite New World Cabernet Sauvignon regions. This wine highlights the charm of the region, by nicely marrying the natural pyrazines of Cabernet Sauvignon (tomato leaf aroma) with the local flavors (sage and mint tea aromas) of Margaret River. Zippy acidity, well-integrated oak, and controlled alcohol levels all while delivering a deliciously balanced wine. Great quality for the price· 💰 ~$50
